Apos treatment is an innovative treatment for knee, back, hip and ankle problems. The treatment is able to reduce pain and improve function and can also significantly improve the outcome of total knee and total hip replacement surgery, as well as the outcome of a back surgery. The treatment utilizes the Apos Walkright System to bring the patient to a proper biomechanical alignment, (where the patient has diminished pain or no pain and is symmetric). Once the patient is in the proper alignment he uses the system at home or office. The system promotes perturbations, thus training the neuro-muscular control along the whole chain of joints: ankle-knee-hip-pelvis-back. The patient is using the system an hour a day, what brings him to hundreds of thousands of repititions wihtin a time frame of 1-2 months. The repititions train the neuro-muscular system to restabilize the joints even when the patient is without the system. After a period of 2-3 months of the treatment patients report a significant reduction in pain and improvement in function (which is also shown in gait lab).
